1. Durban’s Super Giants Owner  | RPSG Sports Private Limited

Durban’s Super Giants are based in Durban. This team calls the Kingsmead Cricket Ground their home. Owned by the RPSG Group, they also own the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL.

Under Keshav Maharaj’s captaincy and Lance Klusener’s coaching, the Super Giants have shown excellent performances. They reached the finals in the 2023-24 season but were runners-up to the Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

2. Joburg Super Kings Owner | Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited

Joburg Super Kings, owned by Chennai Super Kings Limited, is a franchise hailing from Johannesburg, and their home games are played at the iconic Wanderers Stadium. 

They share a lineage with the IPL’s Chennai Super Kings. Coached by captain Faf du Plessis, the team has consistently reached the playoffs in both seasons.

3. MI Cape Town Owner | India win Sports Private Limited

MI Cape Town franchise represents Cape Town. This team enjoys the picturesque Newlands Cricket Ground as their base. Owned by Indiawin Sports Pvt. Ltd., they are affiliated with the Mumbai Indians of the IPL. 

With star players like Kagiso Rabada spearheading their attack, MI Cape Town has been a formidable contender, though they are yet to grab any championship title.

4. Paarl Royals Owner | Royals Sports Group

Paarl Royals franchise based in Paarl, the Royals play at Boland Park. Owned by the Royals Sports Group, they share ties with the Rajasthan Royals of the IPL. 

Under the leadership of David Miller, the team has been known for its strategic gameplay. While they have consistently reached the playoffs, they haven’t been able to make it to the finals.

5. Pretoria Capitals Owner | JSW Sports

Calling Pretoria home, the Capitals play at Centurion Park. Owned by JSW Sports, they are associated with the Delhi Capitals of the IPL. 

Guided by Rilee Rossouw, the team reached the finals in the inaugural 2023 season but fell short against the Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Their consistent performances make them a team to watch.

6. Sunrisers Eastern Cape Owner | Sun TV Network Limited

Sunrisers Eastern Cape is a franchise based in Gqeberha; this team plays at St George’s Park Cricket Ground and is owned by the SUN Group, they are linked with the Sunrisers Hyderabad of the IPL. 

Under captain Aiden Markram, the Sunrisers Eastern Cape have been dominant, clinching the championship title in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, which makes them the most successful team in the league’s short history. 

The franchise has been featured in SA20 in orange and grey colors.
